Auger Drill Bit
Sharpen the insert so the point angle is as noted below.
The absolute best source for sharpening this tool is Leonard Lee's book, The Complete Guide to Sharpening, Chapter 15. (This is a must-have for any sharpener's library.)
Other notes :
- Lead screw must extend beyond any spurs or shoulders on the perimeter of the bit..
- DO NOT change
- the center point of the drill bit, or
- the diameter of the drill bit (only file the inside of the spurs / shoulders).
Grind the minimum off the bit.
